Lucy Boston

On Tuesday, January 12th at 10 am at Engine House Quilt Shop, we will be having the Lucy Boston Class. This class will meet every two weeks just to help you choose and cut out the blocks for this quilt. You are welcome to use your own scraps or purchase a theme fabric. We have the book, templates and paper templates for you to complete this quilt. You are welcome to come and spend the day or come and go as it works in your schedule. We will meet Tuesday, January 12th and again Tuesday, January26th and February 9th.
Hand Quilting
At Engine House we have been blessed with a wonderful Hand Quilter. This makes it possible to offer hand quilting when you complete a quilt. This can be for a baby quilt, a full size quilt, a memory quilt or a vintage quilt. All you need to do is bring your completed top to the quilt shop. We will help you purchase batting and a back and we will take it from there. We will give it to our quilter and when it is finished we will give you a call to come pick it up. The price is comparable to machine quilting and is beautiful. This gives you some choices when you get ready to have your quilt quilted.

Machine Cleaning
When was the last time you had your machine cleaned? Well, if you have completed a few projects for Christmas, or if you have been sewing Minkee or flannel, now is the time to get that machine cleaned. Mel is our machine expert and he will oil, clean, change the needle and adjust the tension in your machine to make it run like a top. And for the month of January, we will be running a special price of $49.98 if you get your machine into the shop before January 30th. After the 30th the price will be $59.98 which will be our regular price. Mel can fix almost any machine so if you are having issues with one of your sewing machines, bring it to Mel and see what he can do.

Floriani Embroidery Club
For everyone who attends the Floriani Event we are offering free classes to help you learn the software and create fabulous designs. Diane will be helping you explore the wonderful world of Floriani and how the software works with your embroidery machine.  We will explore the world of Floriani on Mondays. In January we will meet on January 11th from 10 to 5 pm. We now have a T.V. from which you will be watching what Diane is doing on her computer. We will watch many different information videos which will help us accomplish many more beautiful designs. On Monday, January 25th we will be learning the MDQ II program. This program helps you quilt in embroidery designs. If you have purchased this program be sure to attend and see what amazing quilt designs you will be making. This class is from 10 to 3 pm.

If you are a beginner Embroiderer and you would like to learn, Thursday, January 7th is for you.  Diane will help you with a project or with something you have started. Or maybe you might like to learn about your machine by embroidering your first design. It doesn't matter what direction you are wanting to go, Diane and Lydia will help you learn what you can do with your embroidery machine.  Be sure to email us so we can get you on our Embroidery Club News Flash group that includes pictures of what you will be working on.  Bring in suggestions of what you would like to work on.  We understand not everyone wants to create the same thing so we will help you with whatever you want to work on.  We will also be demonstrating how to create some of your own designs and techniques in the Floriani software.  We will be available to work with you from 10 to 5 on these dates: Thursday,  January 7th.
