Quilting with Templates * This is not a piecing class
Quilting with Templates, is the latest, greatest thing since the Rotary cutter. This class will be teaching how to quilt with templates. Carol Cumming will be showing us the simplistic method of using templates to quilt our projects from a table runner to a full size quilt. This Quilt is like the one done in Australia by the designer and is now being offered in the United States. If you love working with the templates on a beginner status, this is the class for you. You will be learning a number of different templates that will not only make your quilting look professional, they will also be an eye catcher. This method uses a special foot specific to your sewing machine which costs $55. We will have the templates used each month on hand for all students. Be sure to reserve your templates in the correct size before class.. We will be using a Sampler package which includes 6 templates. Each template is demoed to help educate you on the many ways these templates can be used. Be sure to have these packages ready to be used on Monday, October 3rd from 10 to 5 pm. On Monday, October 17th, Carol Cummings will be showing us the another template set that you will enjoy. The cost of the class is $10 plus the beginning sets to get started. This is a cost savor if you quilt any of your projects. The over all look is very professional and all done by you.
We are offering any of the templates in stock or in the catalog in a library setting. You will purchase the template at the listed price and then you have one month to use the set. IF you find that you will only use the set once or you do not care for the template - return it for the purchase price minus $5. This will allow you to try anything that interests you at no risk. We are excited about how creative our customers will become.
At Engine House we have been blessed with a wonderful Hand Quilter. This makes it possible to offer hand quilting when you complete a quilt. This can be for a baby quilt, a full size quilt, a memory quilt or a vintage quilt. All you need to do is bring your completed top to the quilt shop. We will help you purchase batting and a back and we will take it from there. We will give it to our quilter and when it is finished we will give you a call to come pick it up. The price is comparable to machine quilting and is beautiful. This gives you some choices when you get ready to have your quilt quilted.
